The SOAR Story

SOAR is an open, honest and vulnerable space that belongs to everyone; no matter where you are on your wellness journey. We have built the studio so you can show up for yourself daily, grow, and leave with a sense of accomplishment in your day - All while having fun, sharing in laughter, and building camaraderie with those along your side in your community. And of course… A little hard work, sweat, and sore muscles along the way!

 The Pilates Instructors Behind SOAR

Heather

I was in the fashion industry for over a decade working with photographers and producing shoots. While it may seem glamorous (yes, sometimes it was exciting and fun!), it was demanding and and took all of my energy. I found Pilates and it was truly my saving grace. Because of the impact Pilates had on my life, I was determined to one day leave Fashion behind and become a Pilates instructor to really give to others something I find so transforming.

Flash forward to 2020 when Soar Pilates was born out of a deep desire to create something that was attainable for the everyday person and would change their lives for the better. I adore every client that walks in our door (truly, our community is amazing) and I couldn’t be happier to be a part of such an amazing team of women that I’m proud to call our instructors. I learn from each of them everyday.

HEATHER’S PILATES STYLE:
A fusion of traditional Pilates with modern rhythm and flow.

FAVORITE FORM OF SELF LOVE:
Waking up at 5am when everyone else is still sleeping. It’s so peaceful!

FUN FACTS:
I’ve lived in some pretty amazing places — Annapolis, NYC, Ibiza, London, LA and of course, PRESCOTT!

Rachel

I have always been athletic and involved in numerous sports growing up and then discovered a love for almost all things fitness as an adult. Pilates helped take that "fitness" to a new level, by giving me a connection to my body that I never had before. There is a mind/muscle awareness that is learned through practice and I love helping people find that in their own bodies. The best part is seeing clients make that connection and then apply the Pilates principles to their lives outside of the studio. I feel privileged to get to share this passion for movement and mobility and love being part of what Soar is doing in and for this community.

RACHEL’S PILATES STYLE:
Athletic with a strong traditional Pilates emphasis.

FAVORITE FORM OF SELF LOVE:
Getting out into nature and hiking with my husband and my dog.

FUN FACTS:
I'm a 2nd generation Prescott native (my parents were born/raised in Prescott also!)
I have two awesome step kids... and I'm a grandma!
I actually do love spinach and eat it every day.
I secretly have a crush on Justin Bieber.

Barbara

Barbara fell in love with Pilates when she took her first class and soon after, started her teacher certification training. Nearly 15 years later, she still loves teaching, whether she is providing a great workout, helping to rehab an injury or helping the body find balance in strength and length.

“I’ll never tire of studying the body, how it works, and how to improve upon what we have”

BARBARA’S PILATES STYLE:
Progressive combined with utilizing visual and hands-on cues to help get a deeper understanding of what your body can do.

FAVORITE FORM OF SELF LOVE:
I love having a massage every 2-3 weeks!

FUN FACTS:
I have been a hairdresser for 40+ years and a Pilates teacher for 15!
My favorite thing about both professions is seeing people feel good about themselves.
I absolutely love Prescott and live here with my husband Chris and our dogs Alex & Happy.

Jessica

I’m Jessica Leary and I have been teaching group fitness classes since 2013. I fell in love with Mat Pilates and got my first certification in 2016 and love learning about the human body. I have always loved teaching in the classroom or in studio - Sharing information in a way that helps others is my passion!

Pilates has brought strength to my body that I never knew I had. I love watching others find the same and also am fascinated by the rehabilitative potential of the Pilates practice. I have my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training as well and have been teaching at studios in Prescott for many years.

JESSICA’S PILATES STYLE:
Athletic, non-traditional and somewhat dance-inspired.
